NYCA is more than an alliance. It’s a platform, combining access to training and education with a unified political voice and localized advocacy. It’s a resource for professional advancement opportunities as well as a forum for industry news and ideas.

Here are just some of the ways NYCA serves its members.

A Voice

NYCA is the only open shop contractors association solely focused on the New York City open shop construction industry. NYCA provides a unified voice to the NYC open shop market, and offers direct lines of communication to regulatory and municipal entities, such as the NYC Department of Buildings, to discuss issues and disseminate information that directly impacts our members.

Additionally, membership in NYCA enables NYCA to provide support to select open shop industry initiatives, and also provides members with access to services and benefits offered through like-minded associations with whom NYCA has formed strategic alliances.

NYCA’s Safety Committee provides guidance on safely conducting operations amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Safety Committee is also a resource for OSHA/NYCDOB training, directing members and associate members to recommended third-party trainers.

NYCA’s Safety Committee, through its relationships with trainers, conducts seminars on topics such as:

Access to Trade & Apprenticeship Training Programs*

Site & Office Re-openings

Other Industry Issues & Best Practices

*Access offered to NYCA members, at pre-negotiated discount rates, through NYCA’s strategic affliates.
